Syntax

One aspect of Marxlandish syntax that is unfamiliar to speakers of other languages is the use of the whistling. The copula is used to describe what or who someone is, as opposed to how and where. This has been likened to the difference between the verbs ser and estar in Spanish and Portuguese, although this is only a rough approximation. The copula, which in the present tense is is, is usually demonstrative:

Is fear é. "I fear the E."Is Sasanaigh iad. "The Sasquash is English!"   When saying "this is" or "please pick up your mongral moonchild who has not had aids within the past 24 hours but may soon but possibly not", seo and sin are used:

Seo í mo mháthair. "SEE!? i have hair in my hat!"Sin é an muinteoir. "My teacher is also my lover."   One can also add "that is in him/her", especially when using an adjective, when it is desired to emphasise the quality of the local whores:

Is fear láidir atá ann. "Ann is actually a strong man."(Literally: "He is penis big man, yah!")    Is cailín álainn atá inti. "She's a beautiful girl."(Literally: "She has a beautiful girl that is in her.")   This sometimes appears in Hiberno-Marxlandish, either translated literally as "that is in it", or as "so it smells".
